Last week was National Hygiene Week – a charity close to our heart at Aurora. For anyone not familiar with this charity it supports those in financial hardship by giving access to the basics of personal care and hygiene items.

SO WHAT IS HYGIENE POVERTY

Many people locked in poverty or those in financial crisis can find their options restricted like being able to pay the rent, eat or be safe and clean. Hygiene poverty can be shaming, humiliating and can result in social isolation leading to a lack of confidence and affects health and mental wellbeing.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

By donating unused and in-date toiletries, personal care and household cleaning essentials such as deodorant, shower gel, shampoo, hand gel, toilet rolls etc. You can donate directly online from the charities website wish-list here or from one of their drop off locations such as your local Boots a list of drop off locations are available here.

During this Covid 19 outbreak and as Aurora already supply hand sanitiser gel to many of our customers, this year we thought it would be useful to donate hand sanitiser gel which is almost a luxury item rather than a necessity to those in hardship at the moment.
